Introduction - Easter 4

Acts 4:5-12Psalm 231 John 3:16-24John 10:11-18
Intro to the Readings
As we continue to read from the Acts of the Apostles – listen as Peter boldly proclaims Jesus the Christ the only name by which we must be saved.
Psalm 23 listen to afresh, and be mindful you have a good shepherd.
St John writing to the Church encourages us to love in more with mere “words and speech”, but to love with “truth and action” – “truth and action.”
In the Gospel the Lord Jesus says to the disciples “I am the Good Shepherd.” And he affirms he is willing to lay down his life for us.

On this Good Shepherd Sunday let us listen to the Name, and the words, that bring us salvation “in truth and action.”

Introduction - Easter 3

Acts 3:12-19Psalm 41 John 3:1-7Luke 24:36b-48
Intro to the Readings
The first reading from Acts is a sermon. Saint Peter preaching after a lame man is healed.
Psalm four proclaims confidence and trust in God.
The reading from First John affirms that we are children of God.
In the Gospel the risen Lord appears to the disciples and they think he is a ghost. So he asks for something to eat, after showing them his hands and his feet.

Let us listen with confidence and trust in Christ the Risen Lord – with the knowledge that we are children of God.
