Introduction - Proper 27 B - 2015-10-04 - Pent 19

Job 1:1, 2:1-10PS 26Heb 1:1-4, 2:5-12Mark 10:2-16

Intro to the Readings

Today’s Collect is a prayer for unity – for unity among Anglicans – among Christians.
Lately we have been reading from the Wisdom Literature. Today we read from Job – not job!
We will hear three readings from Job – Thanksgiving will take president next week. We listenl presently as Job’s wife suggests an end to his life!
Psalm 26 is a one sided lament – maybe it is your lament.
We listen to Hebrews as the writer speaks about the Glory of God – Jesus the Son! “The exact imprint.”
In the Gospel of Saint Mark, we listen as the Lord speaks about those God made “male and female” the “little children”, and the struggle of life and divorce of those who said they would love and love.

Let us listen.
Let us love.
Let us forgive.
