Introduction - Proper 29 B - 2012-10-21

Job 38:1-7 (34-41)Psalm 104:1-9, 25, 37bHebrews 5:1-10Mark 10:35-45

Intro to the Readings
As we read from Job, in the midst of his troubles, God speaks to Job.
Psalm 104 is a beautiful hymn that reflects what is said in the rest of Job 38, which you may read at home, and the biblical story of creation.
The writer of Hebrews speaks about the Son, Jesus the Lord, as one who is obedient, and the one who has become our Hight Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
In the Gospel the Lord speaks about priestly actions, but also about our calling, our calling to be a servant to all.

May we hear the wisdom of God as God speaks to us.
May we be a servant for our brother, our sister, our neighbour.
