Introduction - Proper 10 - 2012-06-10

1 Sam 8:4-11 (12-15), 16-20 (11:14-15) – PS 1382 Cor 4:13-5:1Mark 3:20-35

Intro to the Readings
In the reading from First Samuel we listen as Israel demands a king from God. We celebrate the reign of our Monarch.
Psalm 138 declares that “all the kings of the earth will praise” the Lord.
The Apostle, writing to the Corinthians speaks about those things that are eternal – that which is eternal – an eternal weight of glory that awaits us in the heavens.
In the Gospel, Mark 3, Jesus heals, restores, and casts out unclean spirits. He is accused of being possessed himself with Beelzebul.

Listen – let the weight of glory rest upon you – the Lord Jesus says to us today “Here are my mother, my brother, my sister.”
