Introduction - Epiphany 4 - 20120129

Deut 18:15-20; – PS 1111 Cor 8:1-13Mark 1:21-28
Intro to the Readings
From Deuteronomy we hear that the Lord your God will raise up a prophet – one who will speak the true Word of the Lord.
Psalm 111 probably sounds familiar as it is often sung at Passover. For puzzle lovers it is an acrostic like Psalm 119, in Hebrew of course.
To the Corinthians we listen as the Apostle writes about food, idols, ethics, and affirming that there is one true God.
The Gospel acclaims the authority and power of Jesus of Nazareth – the Lord’s Prophet.

Let us listen that we may be transformed by the Word’s of the Lord’s Prophet – and our Saviour.
