Introduction - Proper 27 - 2011 October 2

Ex 20:1-4, 7-9, 12-20PS 19Phil 3:4b-14Matt 21:33-46
Intro to the Readings

From Exodus we listen to the Ten Commandments. They are given that we might not sin.
Psalm 19 reminds us of the Commandments: “The Law of the Lord is perfect and revives the soul” . . . “The statues of the Lord are just and rejoice the heart.”
Saint Paul in writing to the Philippians speaks of what he is gaining and losing in Christ. He affirms that Christ is our heavenly prize.
In the Gospel the Lord tells another parable about the owner of a vineyard and his son. As the Lord tells the parable the chief priests and Pharisees heard and understood.

May we hear and understand. Let your heart and soul receive and rejoice in the Commandments of God.
