Introduction to the Readings - Pentecost 11 - 2011 August 28

Ex 3:1-15 – PS -6, 23-26, 45c – Rom 12:9-21 – Matt 16:21-28
Intro to the Readings
We started to read from Exodus last Sunday. Today we listen as Moses is called and sent by Yahweh – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Psalm 105 recalls the salvation of God’s people as they leave Egypt, and make their way to the Promised Land.
The Apostle writes encouraging us to love genuinely – to live in harmony with one another – to live by the law of overcoming evil with good.
In the Gospel we listen as Peter rebukes his Master. And Peter is put in his place.

Listen to God’s call – let us follow the Master – watching for the coming of the Kingdom.
