Psalm 147:13-21 – Or Wisdom of Solomon 10:15-21 (Canticle 11)
Ephesians 1:3-14 – John 1:(1-9) 10-18

Intro to the Readings
This is a day when alternative readings may be read.
The first reading is from Jeremiah – it is filled with hope – hope for all – hope for those mourning and lame – hope for all. Yahweh has become our Father.
The reading from Sirach speaks of Wisdom as personified, and Wisdom finds a home among God’s people.
Psalm 147 is a hymn that speaks of cold and snow, but more so of the majesty of God.
Canticle 11, from the Wisdom of Solomon, reflects the Wisdom the story of salvation – that God sets His people free.
From Ephesians we are reminded in glorious words that every blessing is ours in Christ.
The Gospel is from Saint John, from opening words of Gospel, words that speak of the Word who became flesh, and has lived among us.
