Introduction to the Readings - Proper 33 / Nov 13-19

Isa 65:17-25 – Canticle 3 – 2 Thess 3:6-13 – Lk 21:5-19
Intro to the Readings
We are nearing the end of the Church year and preparing for the Advent of our King.
Isaiah prophesies that God will “create new heavens and a new earth.” Isaiah’s words are comfort and hope.
Canticle 3, Isaiah 12, is a song of trust in God.
The Apostle writes to the Thessalonians about “doing what is right.”
The Gospel reading is about all that will occur when the time draws nigh. The Lord encourages the disciples to endure to the end.

Let us endure to the end – doing what is right in the sight of the Lord – finding comfort and hope in God’s re-creation.
