Readings - Introduction - Easter 6

Acts 16:9-15 – Psa 67 – Rev 21:10, 22-22:5 – Jn 14:23-29 Or Jn 5:1-9
Intro to the Readings
In Acts we listen as the Apostle has a vision – makes his way to Macedonia – and meets “Lydia, a worshipper of God.” Lydia is one who’s heart is open to the Word.
Psalm 67 is a communal song of thanksgiving and praise. While it speaks of judgement the Psalm also speak of equity for all.
From Revelation we listen as we hear of the new Jerusalem. A city where the “glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
In the Gospel we are reminded to love the Lord and to keep his word.
In this reading we also hear familiar words about peace, troubled hearts, and the Holy Spirit.
With open hearts and ears let us listen, and hear how God meets us, and all nations, in the world – mindful that we are the light of the world.
